Family and Professional Background

I am a lifelong resident of Cache Valley and a third-generation owner of a family business, Wilson Motor Company, where we have been supporting our local economy from our location in downtown Logan for over 80 years. My ancestors were among those who first settled in Cache Valley. I have endeavored to emulate their pioneer spirit of hard work, integrity, and perseverance in our small business, and it has been an honor and privilege to apply those same values as I have represented District 2 in the State Senate since I was elected in 2020.

Family is everything to me. My wife, Kiersten, and I have a blended family of ten children and twenty-one grandchildren. I am grateful for their support and love spending time with them in our Logan home and at Bear Lake.

Education and Service

I completed a bachelor’s degree in business administration, with a finance emphasis, at Utah State University, and am a proud Aggie! Volunteerism and community service have always been important to me, and I have served in various capacities both in professional associations (New Car Dealers of Utah Association, Ford Dealer Advertising Board of Directors) and locally (Cache Valley Chamber of Commerce, Cache County GOP State and County Delegate and State Central Committee Member). I have worked closely with the Cache and Rich Community Food Pantries and have helped establish school-based pantries across Cache and Logan School Districts. I continue to seek out and respond to opportunities to sponsor many other charitable organizations and individuals in our community in efforts to make a better life for all citizens of northern Utah.

Legislative Values & Committees

I care deeply about the communities of Cache and Rich County and want to ensure that the concerns of citizens are represented, our values and quality of life are preserved, and vital rights and liberties are protected. I evaluate potential legislation through three critical lenses: 1) the Constitution, 2) my constituents, and 3) my conscience. I seek to bring level-headed leadership to every assignment and legislative opportunity.

My current legislative committee assignments include Senate Health and Human Services, Senate Revenue and Taxation, Higher Education Appropriations, and Infrastructure and General Government Appropriations (Chair). I also serve as the Senate Chair for the Utah Broadband Commission.
